The New York City 9/11 Ballot Initiative Campaign, a non-profit, citizens based organization, whose goal is the creation of an independent commission to lead a new investigation into the tragedy of 9/11, will be holding a rally on Wednesday, April 30th at 7:30 PM at St. Mark's Church in the Bowery. The campaign hopes to put the issue of a new investigation of 9/11 on the November 2008 NYC ballot as a public referendum. Come and learn about this historic effort! Press packets will be available. The rally will be an opportunity for the press and public to learn about the 9/11 Ballot Initiative campaign and to fill out petitions. Residents in the NYC metro area will be encouraged to participate in this historic campaign, which combines principles of Direct Democracy with the effort to establish truth and accountability for 9/11, which is something the government will not do but a responsible citizenry can and must do. Upon reaching 30,000 valid signatures which are lawfully required to put the Initiative on the ballot, NYC voters will be enabled to create a fact-driven investigation of 9/11, which will be distinct from the former Kean-Hamilton Commission because this will go beyond political agendas by exploring all possible scenarios, following the evidence wherever it may lead.
It would seem reasonable that in the NYC metro area we can get 500 volunteers get just 200 signatures each by the end of June, which is the deadline. This can be done in 20-25 hours in the right places while having a good time at it! We would end up with 100,000 signatures, which will make the necessary impact statement to NY City Council and the press. See photos of petitioners at

I'm sorry to say that the first "Week Of Truth" was not successful as far as getting "The Shell Game" on the NYTimes Best Sellers List. We managed to sell roughly 1000 books when the amount needed was between 10k and 12k. At one point on Amazon.com, we managed to get the book to #62 overall, #12 in Literature & Fiction overall, #1 in L&F/War, #4 in L&F/United States, and #5 in L&F/World Literature. I'm not going to make excuses as to why we failed. We tried, we did our best, and we failed.
However, as a result of our action, Richard Greene from Air America's Clout is now going to devote an entire month to having 9/11 debates. As a result of our action, we showed that there are people in this movement that are willing to work together for the greater good. As a result of our action, several people around the country heard 9/11 Truth for the first time because of the different interviews that took place. As a result of our action, we have learned from any mistakes we may have made so as to make the next "Week Of Truth" even better.
In order for people to have their say, a forum has been implemented on the "Week Of Truth" website. If you had problems with how the first "Week Of Truth" was handled, make sure you go to the site, and make your opinion heard. (And offer suggestions for a new initiative! -rep.)
On a personal note, I would like to express a sincere thank you to everyone that did participate. I'm very sorry that the outcome wasn't what we had hoped, but some good DID come from this.
2,973+ people were murdered on 9/11. Those people deserve truth, accountability, and justice for what happened to them, as do their surviving family members, and the rest of this country, and the world. We must not let setbacks deter us from accomplishing this goal. It's too important. Again, thank you, and I look forward to the next "Week Of Truth".

Michele Little - Little lost her brother, FDNY Firefighter, David M. Weiss, on 9/11. Along with 9/11 Family Members Donna Marsh O‘Connor and Christina Kminek, Little called for a real investigation into 9/11 at the National Press Club (9/11/06). Michele also advocates for the First Responders of 9/11 raising awareness of the health issues these heroes currently face.
Sander Hicks - Author and investigative journalist. Has done extensive research into the ISI/Pakistan connection to 9/11 and published “The Big Wedding,” detailing the whistle blowers and the many conflicts of interest within the 9/11 Commission. BILL MOYERS: Jeremiah Wright will be in Washington Monday for a news conference at the National Press Club -- his first since the controversy erupted over those incendiary sound bites. You've heard them; who hasn't heard them: Wright suggesting the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were payback for American policy; Wright repeating the canard heard often in black communities that the u.s. government spread HIV in those communities; Wright seemingly calling on God to damn America.
But just who is this man? That's the question I asked when those sound bites began popping up. I'd heard the name Jeremiah Wright -- his church in Chicago belongs to the fellowship of the United Church of Christ. I joined a UCC church on Long Island 40 years ago and attend Riverside Church in New York City, which is affiliated with American Baptists and the UCC. But I couldn't remember ever having met Reverend Wright. So I wanted to know more about the man, the ministry, and the church.

- - Reverend Wright feedback by William RodriguezEvery now and again an individual is thrusted before us in the grandeur of what is the national spotlight, much like a sacrificial virgin ceremony from past earlier cultures. Often, the incident goes unchallenged by the public at large, or by the community that is the media. But, every now and again the media pauses for a brief moment to take a breath and in that moment of breath, the emergence of fairness creeps into media where the truth is exposed, and the sacrificial virgin is heard.
Such was the case with this weeks episode of Bill Moyers' The Journal where he interviews Mr. Wright. After listening to the sermons in their entirety, it became obvious that mainstream corporate media has villified a man who was using religious scripture as the platform for understanding the acts of evil men, and coping with the pain America felt after 9/11.
America has had historical moments when an individual has made us gaze into a mirror and see past the reflection to a place that lies between our conscience and our souls, and challenges us to reevaluate what makes up our moral values. Often, moments like these will open up national scares that we conveniently, but superficially bury for the purpose of diminishing the pain that comes from acknowledging them.
Reverend Wright was that instrument in this interview. Much of what he said is not new. The Washington Post, New York Times, and other influential media also condemned Martin Luther King when his Riverside Church speech delivered words that described America as being the worlds biggest purveyor of violence as he spoke of his opposition to our presence in Vietnam. A true and accurate observation of who we are as Americans includes some history that we may not be proud of, but that is no less a critical part of our identity.
As long as the history books that are used in our schools are filled with inaccuracies, we will always need voices like that of Reverend Wright's to bring a sobering reflection to a values system that often neglects the truth.

A bill that would have helped states pay to switch to paper-election balloting systems and for random audits after elections died out of a House committee this week, but its prime sponsor said he is not giving up the fight. U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (D-N.J.) said the bill he sponsored, House Bill 5036, the Emergency Assistance for Secure Elections Act, would help make the nation's elections more accurate and secure by helping states move to paper ballots over touch-screen electronic machines. On Tuesday, the bill, which needed a two-thirds majority to pass, went down to defeat in the House 239-178, with 223 Democrats in favor and 176 Republican opposed, after the White House sent out a statement opposing the measure.

CAIRO (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter called the blockade of Gaza a crime and an atrocity on Thursday and said U.S. attempts to undermine the Islamist movement Hamas had been counterproductive.
Speaking at the American University in Cairo after talks with Hamas leaders from Gaza, Carter said Palestinians in Gaza were being "starved to death", receiving fewer calories a day than people in the poorest parts of Africa.
"It's an atrocity what is being perpetrated as punishment on the people in Gaza. it's a crime... I think it is an abomination that this continues to go on," Carter said.
Israel has been blockading Gaza most of the time since Hamas took control of the impoverished coastal strip in June last year, allowing only basic supplies to enter.
Israel has not accepted Hamas proposals for a truce including an end to Hamas rocket attacks on Israel and to Israeli attacks on Hamas personnel in Gaza and the West Bank. Israeli officials say a truce would enable Hamas to rearm.
Carter said Israel and its ally the United States were trying to make the quality of life in Gaza markedly worse than in the West Bank, where the rival Fatah group is in control.
"I think politically speaking this has worked even to strengthen the popularity of Hamas and to the detriment of the popularity of Fatah," he added. The United States has been trying to achieve the opposite outcome.

Israeli jets bombed the alleged site in Syria's eastern desert last September. Today, after months of whispers, the White House publicly claimed that the target of the strike was a nuclear reactor. US intelligence officials said the reactor had been close to becoming operational when it was destroyed. But Mike Chinoy, from the Pacific Council on International Policy, says the claim needs to be taken in its political context, as North Korea's denuclearisation reaches a critical stage. "Everything I'm hearing from my own sources in Washington is that what you have now is a kind of push back by Vice-President [sic] Cheney and his office and other hardliners who are opposed to diplomatic dealings with North Korea," he said.

Members of We Are Change UK questioned ex-BBC reporter Phil Hayton about the early reporting of WTC 7's collapse during a speaking appearance.
Hayton failed to recollect even being in the studio on the day of 9/11-- at first-- but then recalls the situation when it is described in detail, including the actions of Jane Standley, who reported the collapse some 26 minutes in advance with WTC Building 7 still visible in the background.
"A lot of eyebrows were raised," We Are Change reporters point out in summary, because many saw it as a clear controlled demolition, including a number of engineers.
Hayton responded, pointing out that he was not aware of the situation with WTC 7. "This sounds so significant-- I'm just amazed I didn't know about this... This is completely news to me."
"So, is there no official explanation?" Hayton further probed
We Are Change continues to explain the delayed NIST report on WTC 7 as well as the response from a BBC editor who claimed 9/11 tapes were "lost" in a 'cock-up.'
"I sense that you think there's a conspiracy here-- but you might be right," Hayton concluded.
On a previous occasion, We Are Change UK reporters contacted Jane Standley by phone about the telling incident. Standley, unlike Hayton, was not surprised by the revelation, but became uncomfortable and
hurriedly ended the conversation, only commenting that she had been "harassed" about the situation already.

CONGRESSMAN JERROLD NADLER of New York’S 8th Congressional District blasted Wednesday’s Second Circuit Court of Appeals decision that that former Environmental Protect Agency Administrator Christine Todd Whitman is immune from liability for false statements she made about air quality and public safety after the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001. Nadler called Whitman’s proclamations that the air was safe to breathe “lies” and blamed her for thousands of injuries and many deaths. The Congressman said, “If permitted to stand, this interpretation means that government officials in the future can deceive the public and harm thousands of people with impunity. The air after 9/11 was full of pulverized material from the Twin Towers, much of whose structure and contents were somehow rapidly and violently transformed into sub-100-micron dust. Only a high energy explosive process, such as a controlled demolition, could turn so much of the building and its contents into pyroclastic flows of small particles and ultra-fine dust.
The dust from the World Trade Center was not only full of toxic metals from computers and wiring—it was also laden with asbestos. According to Karl Schwarz and other writers, on May 14th 2001, a judge in New Jersey ruled against the New York City Port Authority’s suit against its insurance companies seeking money for a massive World Trade Center asbestos-removal project. Shortly after that decision, the Port Authority began working to transfer ownership of the asbestos-ridden white elephant World Trade Center to Lucky Larry Silverstein, who would take full possession just six weeks before 9/11. Silverstein put only 14 million dollars down on his bizarre investment—and was able to collect more than 4.5 billion dollars in insurance money plus rights to rebuild when his white elephant was almost immediately demolished without a permit. Currently Silverstein is asking for another 12 billion dollars from insurance companies. If he wins, he will have made 16.5 billion dollars on a six week investment of 14 million dollars on an asbestos-ridden nightmare, an “albatross” that was already obsolete before it was finished, according to John Perkins, author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.
In bogus terror news, the New York Times has reported that the six Chicago street people who accepted $50,000 from an FBI agent who said he wanted to destroy Chicago’s Sears Tower will face a third trial, after their first two ended in mistrials.
