Editor’s Notes:David Lindorf wrote the opening article in this issue, which focuses on recent developments and disclosures provided to the public by Sibel Edmonds. One has to begin to connect the dots with the illegal actions of the CIA, Mossad, and Pakistani Intelligence, the ISI, which is known to have had, and to still maintain close contacts with Al-Qaeda. In a new article just published Saturday in the Times of London based upon information provided by US government whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, a 37-year-old former Turkish language translator for the FBI, we have not only solid evidence of prior knowledge of 9-11 by high up US government officials, but evidence of treasonous activity by many of those same officials involving efforts to provide US nuclear secrets to America’s enemies, even including Al Qaeda.
The story also casts a chilling light on the so-called “accidental” flight of six nuclear-armed cruise missiles aboard an errant B-52 that flew last Aug. 30 from Minot AFB in North Dakota to Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The Sunday Times reports that Edmonds, whose whistleblowing efforts have been studiously ignored by what passes for the news media in American news media, approached the Rupert Murdoch-owned British paper a month ago after reading a report there that an Al-Qaeda leader had been training some of the 9-11 hijackers at a base in Turkey, a US NATO alley, under the noses of the Turkish military.
Edmonds, who was recruited by the FBI after 9-11 because of her Turkish and Farsi language skills, has long been claiming that in her FBI job of covertly monitoring conversations between Turkish, Israeli, Persian and other foreign agents and US contacts, including a backlog of untranslated tapes dating back to 1997, she had heard evidence of “money laundering, drug imports and attempts to acquire nuclear and conventional weapons technology.” But the Turkish training for 9-11 rang more alarm bells and made her decide that talking behind closed doors to Congress or the FBI was not enough. She had to go public.
Edmonds claims in the Times that even as she was providing evidence of moles within the US State Department, the Pentagon, and the nuclear weapons establishment, who were providing nuclear secrets for cash, through Turkey, to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence, or ISI, agencies within the Bush administration were actively working to block investigation and to shield those who were committing the acts of treason.
Pakistan’s ISI is known to have had, and to still maintain close contacts with Al-Qaeda. Indeed, the Times notes that Pakistan’s nuclear god-father, General Mahmoud Ahmad, was accused of sanctioning a $100,000 wire payment to Mohammed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, immediately before the attacks.
Edmonds claims, in the Times article, that following the 9-11 attacks, FBI investigators took a number of Turkish and Pakistani operatives into custody for questioning about foreknowledge of the attacks, but that a high-ranking US State Department official repeatedly acted to spirit them out of the country.
Edmonds was fired from her FBI translating job in 2002 after she accused a colleague of having illicit contact with Turkish officials. She has claimed that she was fired for being outspoken, and in 2005 her position was reportedly vindicated by the Office of Inspector General of the FBI, which concluded that she had been sacked for making valid complaints.
One of those whom Edmonds claims in the Times report was being investigated in connection with the nuclear information transfers was Pentagon analyst Lawrence Franklin. Franklin was convicted and jailed in 2006 for passing US defense information to American Israel Public Affairs Committee lobbyists and sharing classified information with an Israeli diplomat. Franklin, in 2001, was part of the Pentagon Office of Special Plans, a kind of shadow intelligence unit set up by the Bush administration inside the Pentagon whose job it was to gin up “evidence” to justify a war against Iraq. In that capacity, he (along with several other OSP members and arch neocon schemer Michael Ledeen) was also identified by Italian investigative journalists working for the newspaper La Republican, as having been at a crucial meeting in December 2001 in Rome with the Italian defense and intelligence service ministers. La Republicca reports that at that meeting a plan was hatched to fob off forged Niger embassy documents as evidence that Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein was trying to buy uranium ore from Niger.
If Edmonds’ story is correct, and Al-Qaeda, with the aid of Turkish government agents and Pakistani intelligence, with the help of US government officials, has been attempting to obtain nuclear materials and nuclear information from the U.S., it casts an even darker shadow over the mysterious and still unexplained incident last August 30, when a B-52 Stratofortress, based at the Minot strategic air base in Minot, ND, against all rules and regulations of 40 years’ standing, loaded and flew off with six unrecorded and unaccounted for nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.
That incident only came to public attention because three as yet unidentified Air Force whistleblowers contacted a reporter at the Military Times newspaper, which ran a series of stories about it, some of which were picked up by other US news organizations.
An Air Force investigation into that incident, ordered by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, claimed improbably that the whole thing had been an “accident,” but many veterans of the US Air Force and Navy with experience in handling nuclear weapons say that such an explanation is impossible, and argue that there had to have been a chain or orders from above the level of the base commander for such a flight to have occurred.
Incredibly, almost five months after that bizarre incident (which included several as yet unexplained deaths of B-52 pilots and base personnel occurring in the weeks shortly before and after the flight), in which six 150-kiloton warheads went missing for 36 hours, there has been no Congressional investigation and no FBI investigation into what happened.
Yet in view of Edmonds’ story to the London Times, alleging that there has been an ongoing, active effort for some years by both Al Qaeda and by agents of two US allies, Turkey and Pakistan, to get US nuclear weapons secrets and even weapons, and that there are treasonous moles at work within the American government and nuclear bureaucracy aiding and abetting those efforts, surely at a minimum, a major public inquiry is called for.
Meanwhile, there is enough in just this one London Times story to keep an army of investigative reporters busy for years. So why, one has to ask, is this story appearing in a highly respected British newspaper, but not anywhere in the corporate US media?

This week, the Sunday Times lifted the lid on one of the most important stories of the last quarter-century: how American officials sold nuclear arms technology to illegal proliferators -- including ideological allies of al Qaeda -- in return for bribes and other inducements. This widespread corruption has been protected from exposure by the highest levels of the U.S. government, which has gone to enormous lengths to protect the truth from coming out. The entire planet has been put at grave risk by the greed -- and geopolitical gamesmanship -- that lies behind this criminal enterprise, which actually is even more extensive, and goes back further in time, than the newspaper's remarkable revelations.
The Sunday Times story is based on the evidence provided by former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, who has been subjected to an unprecedented campaign of state-enforced muzzling by the Bush Administration since she first tried to speak out about the corrupt connections between American officials and foreign agents she discovered when reviewing transcripts associated with the 9/11 investigation. As even the leaders of the whitewashing 9/11 Commission themselves now admit, that investigation was deliberately sabotaged by the Bush Administration – in part to cover up the nuclear proliferation network that has directly or indirectly enriched so many in the American elite over the past decades – including the sitting president of the United States, George W. Bush.
I.
Edmonds' revelations should be seen in their larger historical context, as an outgrowth of the activities of BCCI, the "Bank of Credit and Commercial International," a supposed financial group that a U.S. Senate investigation called "one of the largest criminal enterprises in history." BCCI was a prime vehicle for clandestine nuclear proliferation, among many other illegal activities, and was also used by the CIA and the White House for various covert operations, including secret military and financial support for Saddam Hussein. It also paid numerous grandees of the Democratic and Republican parties to front its operations – and gave George W. Bush $25 million to rescue one of his many business failures.
Although BCCI as a "bank" eventually failed, spectacularly, costing its unsuspecting customers more than $10 billion, almost no one was punished for its myriad crimes, and the full extent of the organization's activities continue to be shielded by the many national governments that became entangled in its operations, including the United States and Great Britain, where the Labour government has made extraordinary interventions in court cases to protect BCCI's secrets, invoking the most draconian state secret laws to quash a lawsuit against the Bank of England for the blind but knowing eye that the regulator turned toward BCCI's deadly fraud.
Before exploring these deeper connections further, let's review the tip of the iceberg that Edmonds has courageously exposed, despite the very real threat of retaliation from the U.S. government. From the Times:
"Edmonds described how foreign intelligence agents had enlisted the support of US officials to acquire a network of moles in sensitive military and nuclear institutions. Among the hours of covert tape recordings, she says she heard evidence that one well-known senior official in the US State Department was being paid by Turkish agents in Washington who were selling the information on to black market buyers, including Pakistan.
"The name of the official – who has held a series of top government posts – is known to The Sunday Times. He strongly denies the claims. However, Edmonds said: 'He was aiding foreign operatives against US interests by passing them highly classified information, not only from the State Department but also from the Pentagon, in exchange for money, position and political objectives.'
"She claims that the FBI was also gathering evidence against senior Pentagon officials – including household names – who were aiding foreign agents. 'If you made public all the information that the FBI have on this case, you will see very high-level people going through criminal trials,' she said."
Edmonds goes on to provide details of the operation, which "appeared to be obtaining information from every nuclear agency in the United States," under the protection of Pentagon and State Department officials. Turkish and Israeli cut-outs were used to get nuclear info to the ultimate recipient, Pakistan's intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and Abdul Qadeer Khan, "father" of Pakistan's nuclear bomb. As the Times notes:
"The Pakistani operation was led by General Mahmoud Ahmad, then the ISI chief…Intelligence analysts say that members of the ISI were close to Al-Qaeda before and after 9/11. Indeed, Ahmad was accused of sanctioning a $100,000 wire payment to Mohammed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, immediately before the attacks.
"The results of the espionage were almost certainly passed to Abdul Qadeer Khan, the Pakistani nuclear scientist. Khan was close to Ahmad and the ISI. While running Pakistan's nuclear programme, he became a millionaire by selling atomic secrets to Libya, Iran and North Korea. He also used a network of companies in America and Britain to obtain components for a nuclear programme. Khan caused an alert among western intelligence agencies when his aides met Osama Bin Laden."
While the Times declined to name the top State Department official cited by Edmonds, elsewhere she has said it was Mark Grossman, "former #3 at the State Department, former ambassador to Turkey, and current Vice President at The Cohen Group, the lobbying company run by former Secretary of Defense William Cohen," notes the blogger Lukery, who has long done sterling service in publicizing Edmonds' plight and her revelations – which, as Lukery notes, are not confined to the nuclear proliferation angle featured in the Sunday Times.
Lukery goes on to note that the other "household names" mentioned by Edmonds include "Richard Perle and Douglas Feith and possibly Paul Wolfowitz. Less familiar names include Eric Edelman, Feith's replacement at the Pentagon, and former Congressman Stephen Solarz."
Lukery also zeroes in on this telling revelation:
"The Times article then notes something that I reported 18 months ago. Immediately after 911, the FBI arrested a bunch of people suspected of being involved with the attacks -- including four associates of key targets of FBI's counterintelligence operations. Sibel heard the targets tell Marc Grossman: 'We need to get them out of the US because we can't afford for them to spill the beans.' Grossman duly facilitated their release from jail and the suspects immediately left the country without further investigation or interrogation.
"Let me repeat that for emphasis: The #3 guy at the State Dept facilitated the immediate release of 9/11 suspects at the request of targets of the FBI's investigation."
(Grossman has denied all of Edmonds' allegations, telling the Sunday Times: "If you are calling me to say somebody said that I took money, that’s outrageous . . . I do not have anything to say about such stupid ridiculous things as this.")
The nuclear proliferation-for-profit ring is just one of the criminal operations that a genuine investigation of the 9/11 attacks would bring to light. Because once you start exploring any part of the dark nexus where so much of the world's business is really conducted – the shadowlands where covert operations, criminal networks, terrorism, high finance and state policy mingle, and battle, in profitable murk – all manner of chicanery is bound to emerge. And so, much as the probe into the assassination of John Kennedy was short-circuited in part to prevent exposure of a wide range of "black ops" involving the U.S. government, the Mob and other unsavoury players, so too the 9/11 attacks will never receive a full, unfettered investigation, but will remain forever – and deliberately – a matter of dispute, breeding arrant crankery and disturbing truth in equal measure, with the latter always tarred and obscured by the former.

This is also true, in some respects, of the 1992 U.S. Senate investigation into what was known as "the BCCI Affair," which left several stones unturned and many questions unanswered. There are two main differences, however. First, the Senate investigation – although it operated within fairly circumscribed limits, pulled many punches, and shied away from some evidence that clearly led to the highest echelons of government -- was actually much more thorough than the official probes of the Kennedy assassination and 9/11. And second, unlike those two investigations, which continue to generate heated interest year after year, the BCCI Affair has been almost completely erased from public memory. Yet a grasp of BCCI's operations – many of which simply continued in other guises when the "bank" itself disappeared – is essential to understanding much of what is happening in the political world today, including Edmonds' revelations.
(The amnesia surrounding BCCI is even more remarkable when you consider that the man who led the 1992 probe – which turned up so much dirt involving the first Bush administration – was none other than Senator John Kerry. Yet Kerry – who knew where so many Bush bones were buried, and who had once displayed genuine moral courage in denouncing the Vietnam War after his service there – used none of this knowledge, and showed none of this courage, when seeking to oust the second Bush Administration, which retained many tainted figures from the first reign, and was headed by a man who had taken millions of dollars from BCCI. Instead Kerry spent the campaign – as he had spent much of his Senate career – trying to prove to the corporate and militarist elite that he was a "safe pair of hands," someone who wouldn't really rock the boat or kill the elite's flock of golden geese. Having thus disarmed himself, he failed to generate the landslide he would have needed to overcome the Bush Faction's election-skewing machinery – although it is very likely that Kerry would have won the election anyway had Ohio's votes been counted fairly. But here too he folded and refused to fight, choosing, like Al Gore before him, not to risk his insider status with a serious, genuine challenge to the system.)
The full details of BCCI's origins and activities – and its bipartisan corruption of American politics – can be found in the Senate report of its investigation, which is available in full at the website of the Federation of American Scientists. It is a long report, but repays reading. The extent of the criminality and moral corruption it documents is truly mind-boggling. Below is a very brief précis of the Senate's findings.
BCCI was founded by Pakistan tycoon Agha Hasan Abedi, who used what Senate investigators called his "extraordinary personal charisma" to charm his way into friendships with the world's global elite, including U.S. President Jimmy Carter and, more crucially for the operation's development, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan, the illiterate ruler of Abu Dhabi, who had been installed as leader of the oil-rich state in 1966, after the British engineered a coup against his brother. Abedi became in effect the personal manager of Sheik Zayed's money – and the vast wealth of Abu Dhabi – which he used to fund the creation of BCCI.

If there is anything positive to come out of the failure (up to now) of US media networks to cover the Sibel Edmonds story, it is that the issue has been a ‘litmus test’ and has highlighted what some of us have known for a long time, that the mainstream media news networks of North America are wholly and absolutely corrupt.
Of this there can now be not one shred of doubt, the story first printed in the London Sunday Times, of ongoing high level treachery within the United States government, has been covered all across the globe including in Pakistan and Israel, almost everywhere it seems apart from where it’s most important, where this clearly ‘infected’ government actually governs, in the United States itself.

2. Control of the US media stifles reporting of important news.
Sibel's story is not being reported in the mainstream news in the US. More news is to come from Sibel Edmonds. Hopefully we can get the word out. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper! Yes, the US media is controlled. It is not reporting the real facts on 9/11 because the media has been tricked or is controlled. Operation Mockingbird (

In a case moving as rapidly as this one, a report prepared yesterday is overtaken by events today, and vice versa. Luckily, the Editor was too tired at 5.00am British time to complete the posting of this report, because it became clear on the morning of 9th January that the absolute end of the line had been reached. Because of this understanding, we were in a much better position to deconstruct what that Paulson matter was all about. We summarise the position here in the context of today's news.
Paulson, Kimmitt and one further high US Treasury official WERE SHOT: that is CONFIRMED (see below). Then, on the back of these horrible facts, Cheney's desperate disinformation apparat built a 'Black Ops' 'sting', to the effect that Paulson was dead. (We don't really know, despite 'postmortem appearances', whether he is or not: but this is now a diversion: see what follows). Why, given that the shootings took place, was it 'necessary' to build a 'sting' (a possible 'lie' that Paulson was dead) on the back of that fact? The answer to this has now become clear. It is this:
• Post-settlement, THERE IS TO BE ENDLESS SILENCE. The few despised 'alternative media' outlets that have tried to expose this historically unprecedented financial criminality are to be left out to dry. Now, in the cases of several outlets based in the United States, the relevant 'forces' can do any number of things: cease payments, withdraw handlers, harrassment, threats, whatever. But what can they do to silence us (within reason, and given our background and connections)? The answer is: NOT A LOT. So, as usual, 'they' resort to the only game 'they' know: DIRTY TRICKS.
• Since 'they' want total silence to reign for ever, and a veil to be drawn across this evil, stinking theatre of criminality, the ideal solution for them would be to try to discredit the only sources that have led this hideous information into the public domain. So they tried it on, by elaborating on the shootings and possibly lying that Paulson had died. (We still don't know what happened to Kimmitt, by the way: see hard evidence of something very nasty, below).
As you will see from the report below, this 'sting' operation has not succeeded. Furthermore, post-settlement, the question remains: what are they going to do about Mr Christopher Story? Here is a suggestion: RELY ON HIS GOODWILL. No, we won't be silenced. But, as you will also see below, we DO try to be helpful whenever we can. We will govern our responses in accordance with the future behaviour of the 'forces' who would like to shut us down without a cause. All we have ever done is, pro bono publico, to publish the truth about hidden criminality at the intergovernmental level that stinks in the nostrils of every normal human being who is not sitting on his or her brains.
NOW, please take note of THIS. In the text below, you will see that a section, which was to contain extremely sensitive intelligence, HAS BEEN CENSORED.
This has happened because the Editor and Mr Cottrell were discussing this article yesterday and incorporated certain sensitive information which needs to be delivered into the public domain, and which will have devastatingly severe consequences behind the scenes were it to be publicised.
• The eavesdroppers overheard what we had planned, and telephoned Mr Cottrell this morning to ask him to prevail upon the Editor for the intelligence to be withheld. The Editor has COMPLIED, but ONLY on the clear, strict understanding that the Wanta Settlement, which we believe may well be on the verge of implementation, is indeed effected TODAY, 9TH JANUARY 2008.
THEREFORE, should it transpire later today that we have been deceived, the intelligence that has been censored from this report will be reinserted without further ado, since we will not be bound by any undertaking if other parties have reneged on theirs, or double-crossed payees yet again.
PURPOSE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE: TO INFLICT HILLARY ON THE WORLD FOR THE COVER-UP
The substantial opinion poll lead of the Obama campaign immediately prior to the New Hampshire primary election, which vanished to yield a tiny majority for Mrs Rodomski Clinton yesterday, is of course connected to the crisis that we are having to report on this website. Mrs Hillary Clinton is the criminalists' 'macro plan'. To cover up their past giga-thefts, they NEED this Evil Jezebel in the White House. When it appeared that Obama was heading for a second primary win, which would have given him near-impregnability, 'they' resorted to their usual DIRTY TRICKERY: fiddling with electronic voting machines. This subject is covered in the Editor's book 'The New Underworld Order', which is dedicated to the late Andrew ('Andy') Stephenson, who exposed the electronic voting machine fraudulence and was murdered by the Dark Forces for his pains in 2005.
Lo and behold, New Hampshire uses the notorious Diebold electronic voting machines, which seem to exist not to count votes BUT TO RIG ELECTION OUTCOMES. What a coincidence that there is a Bush Crime Family connection to Diebold. The American Presidential electoral system taught to young Americans at school is a myth. The United States struts around the world telling everybody all about democracy and judging whether a foreign election is fair or not, while back home it rigs its own elections. This Durkheimian 'election norm' is being exposed along with the financial frauds exposed by this website. The Dark Forces intend to vote-rig their way to a Hillary Presidency.
And while on the subject of deception, as usual, it is 10.15pm here, UK time, on 9th January 2008. As far as the Editor is aware the settlements have NOT been implemented.
This means that, having been deceived yet again, we will be left with no choice but to post the censored information referenced in this report. We removed the information on the basis that there was to be no further duplicity. But as Durkheim taught, duplicity in 'anomie' is their norm.
LIKELY SCENARIO: ISRAEL: BOMB IRAN WITH US, AND WE'LL HAND YOUR MONEY BACK
10th January, early morning UK time: We are receiving indications, as yet unconfirmed, that a total sum aggregating $43 trillion was stolen and transferred to Israel: if that is not the case, this was the intention; or else the funds are controlled by Israeli interests. Should this turn out to be accurate, then the geopolitical scenario is almost certainly as follows. Israel is blackmailing the United States, with the assistance of traitors inside Citibank and elsewhere in the US banking system, and in the White House and the Treasury, to force the issue of bombing Iran, which the whole world believes would be an act of the most extreme folly imaginable. In other words, Israel may be saying to the United States: Bomb Iran, and then we'll return the money. Not before. Let's hope this assessment is dead wrong. But if it isn't, you can imagine the multiple adverse consequences that may ensue.
DECONSTRUCTING THE PAULSON DIVERSION
On January 8th 2008 a figure appearing to be Henry M. Paulson Jr., Secretary of the US Treasury, appeared on CNBC talking about the economy and related matters.
The voice appeared to correspond closely to Paulson’s known voice. Whether this individual was Paulson or not is not confirmed, especially in the light of forensic examination of video footage of the event, and of earlier ‘postmortem appearances’ not dealt with here; but the TV show purported to be broadcast live. Mr Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., the Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Ambassador Wanta’s AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc, therefore telephoned the Editor to ask him whether he would publicise the sources of the information that Paulson was shot and gravely wounded on 28th or 29th December, and that he died shortly thereafter.
This is done below.
Peculiar to the United States, a mini-industry of ‘doubles’ exists who hire themselves out to stand in for prominent people who have either been killed or who, for various pressing reasons, need to be ‘absent’ when they are supposed to be ‘performing’. In an email received by the Editor from an informed US source at 4:41pm UK time on 4th January 2008, on the subject of doubles, the source wrote: ‘It would be interesting to see if there is more than one Paulson running around. Lookalikes are used a great deal for people in sensitive situations, because they get murdered a lot, so they keep a spare, or use the spare in sensitive situations’.
Forensic deconstruction of earlier still photographs, video and alleged ‘appearances’ raised serious doubts about the reliability of some of the images, according to several experts who have shared their analyses with us. However let us assume for that Paulson himself was interviewed on CNBC at around 8.00am on 8th January. This presentation assumes, subject to issues raised in the sources cited below, that the ‘real’ Paulson had suddenly materialised for public consumption.
Furthermore, we had a contact who deliberately attended the ‘Paulson’ event at the Westin Hotel in New York City on 7th January, having paid $20 entry fee. Although he sat at the back of the room, he thought that the person speaking was indeed Henry M. Paulson.
WHY DID THE U.S. TREASURY NOT DEMAND A RETRACTION?
If this was indeed the case, why did the US Treasury not demand from the Editor of this service an immediate retraction of our report that Paulson had been shot, and had subsequently died? One would have thought that Paulson’s office would have seen to it that the report was denied. Why did Paulson’s office not issue a denial of the report?
At no time has the report been officially denied. How very odd!
Thus it would seem that the US Treasury was in no way ‘phased’ by the fact that Paulson had been reported to have been shot and had died. WHY ON EARTH WAS THAT?

The computer counted votes are the problem. Not a single hand count township showed less than 10%. Supposedly, Ron Paul got 8% - this does not make sense.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - North Vietnamese made hoax calls to get the US military to bomb its own units during the Vietnam War, according to declassified information that also confirmed US officials faked an incident to escalate the war....
...The author of the report "demonstrates that not only is it not true, as (then US) secretary of defense Robert McNamara told Congress, that the evidence of an attack was 'unimpeachable,' but that to the contrary, a review of the classified signals intelligence proves that 'no attack happened that night,'" FAS said in a statement.
"What this study demonstrated is that the available intelligence shows that there was no attack. It's a dramatic reversal of the historical record," Aftergood said.
"There were previous indications of this but this is the first time we have seen the complete study," he said...
